Where did the name Kenneth Ave come from?
Kenneth Ave was the street that I grew up on in Erin Ontario, it holds a special spot in my heart. I didn't want to have a name that is specific to a product because I hope to expand one day!
How many cups does each size make?
50g makes 10-14 cups, 100g makes 20-24 cups and the tea bags contains 12 individual bags.
What makes your company environmentally friendly?
When starting Kenneth Ave it was very important for me to make it earth friendly. All of our tea bags are biodegradable and all of our other packaging can be reused or recycled. When shipping our products we use shredded paper from our waste as packaging protection. We also use recycled boxes, I'm sorry if you thought you were getting another Amazon order.
Do you grow the herbs yourself?
Not yet- this is one of my goals! Right now we work with an amazing company that is a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership, an organization that monitors and regulates living and working conditions on tea estates around the world. They are providing jobs in the developing countries providing them with a sustainable year round income.
Do you offer wholesale?
Absolutely, we love working with other businesses as we grow! We are currently in 13 retail locations around Ontario. One of our 2021 goals is to partner with a Canadian business outside of Ontario. If you are interested in wholesale pricing please fill out the contact us form, we will be in touch!
What are the packaging options?
Our packaging consists of glass jars with bamboo lids. Please see below to learn about our jar return program. The refill bags are a biodegradable kraft pouch, please remove the label before disposing. The sample size is a glass tube with a cork lid.
What is the jar return program?
If you are local to Guelph you have the option to receive your order in tins. Just leave a message at checkout or send us an email! Once you are done with the tea. You may return the jar for a $1.00 refund. The refund will be issued in a form of a gift card. Please make sure the tin is cleaned, the label is removed and that you leave a name and email address.
How do you brew the tea?
To make an iced tea- the ratio is 1 tsp of tea per cup of water, once you have the tea in the water. Steep in the fridge over night or for at least 12 hours. In the morning strain and serve over ice! Our iced teas pair amazing with any juice and can be used to make delicious low calorie cocktails.
To make a hot tea- add 1 tsp of tea per cup of water. Add tea into a tea strainer and pour boiling water over tea, let steep for 5-7 minutes. The longer it steeps the stronger it will be. Serve with cream, milk or sugar!
